Ducted reverse cycle heating and cooling or ducted gas heating with reverse cycle cooling

So, gas ducted heating… there is no more efficient method of heating especially in really cold climates.

But most homes in Australia need both heating and cooling so we look at well how do you go about cooling if you’ve got gas ducted heating installed and the alternative is to do not do gas ducted heating and look at reverse cycle but you need to get the benefits of the heating and the benefits of reverse cycle cooling as well.

So, there we have a product called dual comfort and it runs on the same principles through the same controller as gas ducted heating, it can be zoned, you can set the temperature for each zone, you’ve got full flexibility, but you get all the benefits of gas ducted heating without losing anything on the refrigerator and cooling. And it really is the most efficient way to heat and cool your home all-in-one product. When looking at gas ducted heating with refrigerated cooling it’s really important to plan it from the start because the requirements for the refrigerated side for cooling are slightly greater than for the gas ducted heating so the duct and the vents and everything and the whole system has to be designed from the start to include the refrigerated cooling. It doesn’t mean that from day one when you purchase your gas ducted heater that you have to install them together, you could install the gas ducted heater at the start of winter and then a couple of months later install the refrigerated cooling.

Reverse cycle air conditioning is great in areas where you don’t need… you haven’t got as greater heating demand so in areas where it is fairly mild like the east coast of New South Wales up through into Queensland – air is where it doesn’t get that really cold below six or seven degrees generally – and then it’s fine to use reverse cycle. But generally where you’re looking at using the dual comfort system is where you need the heating requirement because it is really cold but then you also want the benefit of reverse cycle cooling so therefore you use that that dual comfort product and it’s all integrated into the one controller and really delivers you the benefits of gas ducted heating in the really cold months but then also the benefit of  refrigerator cooling in the warmer months.
